Subdirectories in the Geek Gadgets ftp tree are:

  YYMMDD        Snapshot releases of Geek Gadgets.  Typically you will
                only want the latest one.

  alpha         Random things that haven't yet made it into Geek Gadgets
                or highly experimental releases of things that are
                currently being investigated for inclusion in Geek
                Gadgets.

  current       This is a symbolic link to the latest snapshot directory.
                You can always access the latest snapshot via this link
                instead of the specific version number (YYMMDD).

  lists         Gzip compressed copies of the Geek Gadgets mailing list
                archives.

  updates       Diff files and some binary and/or source archives for
                things that have changed since the latest snapshot.
                Use cautiously, since they may be relatively untested.
